Every so often, a project comes along that’s about more than turf and technique — it’s about a genuine surprise. This one started with a prize draw run by Golf4Home in partnership with our friends at Dunes Comps, giving one lucky golf fan the chance to win a home putting green installation worth having.
To build the excitement, the draw was held live, straight after the final day of the British Golf Show (North) — the perfect send-off to a weekend celebrating everything golf. Out of everyone who entered, one name came out on top: Jordan Maclean.
Meet the Winner
Jordan, from Ladysbridge in Aberdeenshire, had entered the draw hoping for a bit of luck — the kind of thing you enter and half-forget about. So when the call came through to say he’d won a brand-new putting green for his own garden, it’s safe to say it made his year.
The Installation
With the win confirmed, it was time for the Golf4Home team to get to work. The brief was simple: turn part of Jordan’s garden into a proper practice space he could use whenever the mood — or the itch to sharpen his short game — struck.
The team designed and installed a 3-hole putting green, built to give Jordan a genuine, course-quality surface right outside his back door. As with every Golf4Home installation, the focus was on a smooth, true, all-weather roll — no more soggy lawns or inconsistent bounce, just a green that’s ready to play on 365 days a year, whatever Aberdeenshire’s weather throws at it.
The Result
The transformation speaks for itself. What was once an ordinary patch of garden in Ladysbridge is now a 3-hole putting green Jordan can step out onto any time he likes — whether that’s a quick practice session before work or a relaxed weekend round with friends and family.
Jordan was overjoyed with the finished green, delighted that a bit of luck at the British Golf Show turned into a permanent upgrade to his garden — and his golf game.
